1.2. System Personnel

The personnel involved in the Grader Tool project are organized into the following groups and subgroups:

  1. end users
    1. instructors
    2. teacher's assistants
    3. students
  2. system developers
  3. project advisor

End users are those who use the Grader Tool for its intended purpose. All end users have Grader Tool applications running in their local machines. Instructors have instructor accounts and can access the Grader Tool web server that is running in the CSC department server to post and download gradebook(s) by authenticating to the server. Teacher's assistants have TA accounts and may only alter the grade(s) in the gradebook(s) by downloading and reposting an existing gradebook(s) in the server without changing the structure of the gradebook(s) unless that the instructors grant full privileges to the assistants. Students can download his/her gradebook(s) from the server without the privilege to post gradebook(s). In addition to inefficacy to post gradebook(s), the downloaded gradebook(s) for students also do not contain student information such as student names and IDs. The Grader Tool web server keeps track of accounts and privilleges using a special file that can be modified accordingly by general system administrators.

The primary system developers are Samuel Park, Steven Hoang, Javier Garcia, Binh Phan, and Adam Rachman.

The project advisor is Gene Fisher.
