1.1. Problem Statement
The general problems to be addressed by the Scheduler Tool project are the following:
- to provide a reliable software tool that can create schedules for the university
- to provide different clear scheduling views

to prevent from overlapping different teachers or rooms
While these problems have been solved by a number of commercially available products,
this scheduler provides a solution with certain functional improvements over existing
tools. Specific problem areas are the following:
- considers the professors preferences
- shows how fair the schedule is
- archives schedules for later use
- uses former schedules and optimizes them for each new quarter

stores databases on a save server and allows parallel working on different schedules
The Scheduler Tool project addresses the requirements of a particular customer.
This customer has experience with different Scheduler Tools and wants to have there
main features plus new features in this Project combined, improved and tailored
to suit his special demands in the Softwareengineering department.
