E-Z Class Scheduler is a very rudimentary scheduling tool. The interface
is written for the web in Perl and is quite bland. An administrator can add
"Class Types" (courses), teachers, and locations, and then combine this
information into a "Class" which is created by manually selecting a class
type, teacher, location, and then adding a date, time, duration, and possibly
a comment. The client's only interface allows them to select a combination of
criteria and check if such as class exists.
Good Features:
- covers the basics fine
- provides good printing functionality of class
offerings list
- overall it's nice and simple, without almost no
learning curve
- online access allows for easy access from multiple
locations
Bad Features:
- web interface is clunky and
difficult to use
- requires a lot of work on
administrator's part to create a valid class (no criteria checking)
- very rudimentary; basically just
a visual database interface
Missing Features:
- lacks any sort of search for
clients to find classes with
- lacks a feature to define a
teacher's ability to teach at a certain time
- lacks a feature to define a
teacher's ability to teach a certain class
- lacks a feature to auto-generate
a course based on stored criteria
- lacks a way of filtering within a
category, ie teachers starting with "T"
