The first thing to note about FET is that it's open source. Of course, there are many open source schedulers out in the market, however this one is a little different. It's a bit underdeveloped, but for what it's worth it works. Naturally, this will not work well for the system that we are developing for.

Good Features:

• Information can be imported and exported via CSV format. Export also includes HTML and XML formats.
• Space constraints for rooms includes unavailability periods and preferred activities
• Preferences/Constraints have percentage value from 0% to 100%, making a more precise preference.
• Constraints to keep 2 activities from overlapping (how we want 300-400 classes not to)

Bad Features:

• There are limits to many parameters, such as number of students, teachers, rooms for the database to hold.
• Design implementation has not been executed well.
• Display of final calendars hard to read.

Missing Features:

• Drag/Drop functionality for editing process after scheduling algorithm has been used.
• Cannot sort schedules by room
• Constraints for rooms such as max students it can hold
