Lantiv Timetabler is a scheduling software used for schools. It has two modes for creating a schedule: interactive and automatic. The automatic mode allows the user to set up different constraints and takes them into consideration to create a schedule for the user. The interactive mode allows users to manually make changes to the schedule by moving cells, copy, paste, and drag and drop.

Overall, Lantiv Timetabler provides an acceptable level of scheduler functionality. It does not support multi-platform use, since it is a Microsoft-only product.

Good Features:

• considers constraints such as free periods, lessons per day, adjacent scheduling, lesson range and equipment
• 3 view modes: week, day, and personal
• interactive mode allows user to drag and drop activities, move and delete cells, block cells and resolve conflicts
• allows the user to extract many kinds of reports and statistics about the timetable
• shows a list of free, blocked and scheduled objects at the selected time slot in the grid

Bad Features:

• difficult to figure out how to use
• all classes must have the same duration or a multiple of it

Missing Features:

• time and course preferences and constraints for instructors
• lab proximity to lecture
• ability to check the parts the user wants to keep and regenerating the rest
