1.5.1 Schoolhouse Test
Schoolhouse test is a simple program that allows user to create tests composed
of eight different question types. Users may create and save multiple
tests and print the tests directly from the software. The interface is
simple but basic: a row of icons and non context-sensitive dialogs.
Unfortunately, Schoolhouse Test lacks any concept of a database of questions
requiring teachers to manually copy-paste questions between tests.
Good Features
- Includes the following question types
- multiple-choice
- fill-in-the-blanks
- matching
- short answer
- list, order
- true/false
- long answer
- Simple test creation interface
- Multiple print view options
- Randomization
- Question order
- Multiple choice correct answer
- T/F correct answer
- Reads pictures from file or MS clipart
- Great looking website
Bad Features
- Cluttered interface : A top menu bar, a Save, Open, etc. icon, bar, a tab
bar, then another icon bar.
- No context sensitivity in dialog boxes
- Pictures cannot be placed freely
- Tests are saved individually
- All saving must be done manually
Missing Features
- No Electronic Testing
- No question database
- No code support
- No advanced content(equations, drawings, etc.)
Schoolhouse test provides a decent way to create simple tests but the lack of
a questions database and electronic testing capabilities makes it useless to
the clients.
