2.1.3 Student User Interface

The initial screen for a student using the Test Tool on their personal machine has two buttons: Graded Tests and View Tests.

Clicking on "Graded Tests" opens up a window displaying a student's grades for all the tests they have taken. Clicking on "View Tests" opens a window which displays to the student all the tests they haven't taken yet. From there they can start on one of the tests if they wish by clicking on the "Start" button. These tests are take home tests since inclass tests are taken on slave machines in a dedicated lab.

The student drop down menu has two options: Take Test and Gradebook.

Take Test starts the currently selected test.
Gradebook opens a dialog that displays all the grades for tests the student has taken.

Students taking a test in a dedicated lab on slave machines are automatically taken to a placeholder screen until the proctor starts the test. Figure 2.1.3.3 shows a student waiting for a CPE 101 midterm to start.

Once the proctor starts the test the student is automatically brought to the first question on the test.
