About me. Hi, I'm Ka Yaw! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at California Polytechnic State University. I was trained as a biologist, a biomedical engineer, a mechanical engineer, and a computer scientist. I obtained my Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas under the guidance of Professor Ovidiu Daescu.

Research interest. My current research revolves around geometric and combinatorial optimization algorithms. I have a particular interest in topics related to computational geometry such as facility location theory and robot motion planning. My recent work has ranged from theoretical investigations of problems in computational geometry to their practical applications in biomedical science and engineering. To learn more about my background and my work, please feel free to check out my curriculum vitae.
