The archives cistern is located in a small courtyard directly facing the main entrance to the building. The ROV was lowered down a shaft which opened up to two bell shaped chambers. The smaller of the two chambers comes off of the main shaft approximately 16 feet from the water surface and the entrance to the larger chamber opens up from the shaft approximately 16-22 feet below the water surface.
Shown below are two sonar images illustrating the shape of the cistern from a top down perspective (on the left)as well as a vertical cross cut (on the right), which better illustrates the shaft and the two bell shaped rooms coming off of it.
