TIMMY GAMBIN, Maritime Archeologist - Dr T. Gambin obtained his undergraduate degree in history at the University of Malta and proceeded to read for his MA in maritime archaeology and history at the University of Bristol where he proceeded to obtain his doctorate under the tutelage of Dr A.J. Parker. He is currently a visiting lecturer at the Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Malta and director of archaeology of the Aurora Special Purpose Trust. Over the past years he has participated and directed numerous offshore surveys both in Malta and elsewhere in the Mediterranean. He also initiated the cistern exploration project. His research interests include ancient harbours, new technologies and the management of underwater cultural heritage as well as maritime traditions of the Mediterranean.
KEITH BUHAGIAR, Medieval Archaeologist - Mr K. Buhagiar graduated in Archaeology at the University of Malta from where he proceeded to read for his MA in Maltese medieval and early modern cave-settlements and water galleries archaeology under the guidance of Prof. M. Buhagiar at the same university. This study, for which Mr Buhagiar was awarded an MA degree with distinction, was a first attempt at coming to terms with the rural archaeology of Late Medieval Malta. He is currently reading for a Ph.D. in archaeology at the University of Malta under the tutelage of Prof. A. Bonanno and his research centres round medieval settlement distribution and their water management systems in Malta. Mr Buhagiar is currently a visiting lecturer in palaeochristian and medieval archaeology at the Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Malta. Research interests include Mediterranean water management systems, troglodytism and Mediterranean settlement location and distribution.
CHRISTOPHER OLSTAD, Operations Director for MarineLab Undersea Laboratory and Marine Ecology Field Instructor - Mr. Olstad is a biologist and underwater technician, with considerable experience in undersea research. For the last twenty years Mr. Olstad has worked for Marine Resources Development Foundation as Operations Director for its manned underwater laboratory (MarineLab) directing over 500 scientific and educational missions involving more than 1000 aquanauts. CHRISTOPHER CLARK, Associate Professor, California Polytechnic State University - Dr. Clark obtained his Ph.D. from Stanford University where he studied multi-robot motion planning within dynamic robot networks. He worked for 3 years as an Assistant Prof. at the University of Waterloo before joining Cal Poly. He teaches and researches in the fields of Autonomous Mobile Robots, Multi-Robot Systems, Underwater Robotics, Reconfigurable Robots, SLAM, and Motion Planning. JANE LEHR, Assistant Professor, California Polytechnic State University - Dr. Lehr is Assistant Professor in the Departments of Ethnic Studies and Women's & Gender Studies at California Polytechnic State University. She is also Equity & Access Programs Director for the Center for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education and the Global Engineering/Cultural Advisor for the International Computer Engineering Experience (ICEX) Program. Previously, she served as elected co-chair of the Science & Technology Taskforce of the National Women's Studies Association and as a Post-Doctoral Research Officer for the NSF-funded Center for Informal Learning and Schools (CILS). Her PhD is in Science & Technology Studies and Women's Studies at Virginia Tech.
ZOë WOOD, Associate Professor, California Polytechnic State University - Dr. Wood obtained her Ph.D. from Caltech where she studied geometric modeling. She researches and teaches in the field of computer graphics with a specific focus on geometric modeling (from acquired data), real-time computer graphics applications, scientific visualization and rendering.
