Project Team Evaluations

Each team will help with the evaluation of another team's project by critically reviewing the development team’s documentation (Wiki pages) and prototypes.
The evaluation team will perform the tests and evaluations described in the evaluation plan provided by the development team. A short evaluation will be performed after each milestone, and should be completed the week after the milestone is due. These evaluations should be available from the Web pages of the evaluation team. It is advisable to have a separate Wiki page for the evaluations. The evaluations should address at least the following aspects:
  • overview of the system or the major changes, as seen from the evaluation team's perspective
  • identification of the requirements relevant for the documentation or version under evaluation
  • application of the evaluation criteria to this version
  • description and interpretation of the results
  • recommendations to the development team

You can add additional information, such as feedback on the testing and evaluation plan, on the documentation provided, or on the system design and implementation. This evaluation is done on various prototypes of the system so that changes are still relatively easy to incorporate into the design. Due to the tight schedule, it is advisable to establish good contacts between the development and evaluation teams. Ideally, the evaluation team should receive ongoing information on the status of the project, and report back any evaluation results as quickly as possible.
The overall evaluation will be presented to class in a final presentation, and should be documented in a final evaluation report.
To find the team you are supposed to evaluate, go to the page with the assignments, look for your team number in the column on the right, and then do the evaluation of the team that is listed on the left. Put the evaluation on the wiki for your own project by creating a new Wiki page called “Evaluations”. An easy way to do this is to put a link to the new page on one of the existing pages via [wiki:Evaluations Evaluations]. From there, you can link to the individual evaluations of the milestones. The deadline for the evaluations is one week after the milestones are due. However, evaluation teams won’t be penalized if documents by the development team are not made available on time.
