1.5.5 Moodle
Moodle is a suite of course management software that includes a test creations tool.
This allows the tool to be tightly integrated with other Moodle services, such as rosters, grading, and student/teacher user accounts.
Moodle is also an open-source project, allowing users to modify it to their own needs, but if one is looking for a simple test creation tool, it is a bit overkill.
Good Features:
- Integrated with Moodle suite of CMS
- Supports import from Blackboard and other sources
- Questions can be exported as XML
- Scores can be exported as multiple document formats
- Supports many kinds of questions
- Test can be locked down to a certain set of IP addresses
- Supports exam times
Bad Features:
- Test creation screen is bulky and difficult to navigate
- Question creation screen is incredibly complex
- If no questions can be generated, you must delete the test and create another one
- UI is slow
Missing Features:
- Test results cannot be sent to students through the system
- Cannot automatically generate a full test
