1.3. Operational Setting

There are three operational settings for the Electronic Classroom: (1) use as a instructional tool for Gene Fisher; (2) use as an instructional tool for any teacher at Cal Poly; (3) use as an instructional tool for any University or place of learning.

The Electronic Classroom is intended to be used in an educational or instructional setting. The primary customer for the tool is Gene Fisher, and although some of the features may only be useful to Dr. Fisher or at Cal Poly, most of the features are useful as a general-purpose product.

The Electronic Classroom is made to be used on a system in which it can control privilages for other things that can be done on the computer. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is best used in a situation where the professor is in the same room as the students, although it is possible for students not present to connect to the lecture.
