'New' creates a new presentation document (with the initial topic) and displays it in a new window. 'Import...' opens a file selection dialog, and upon successful selection of an HTML file, converts it to a presentation document as described in section 2.2.2. 'Open...' opens a file selection dialog to choose a saved presentation file.
When the above commands create a presentation document within E-Class, it is displayed in a new window. The exception is when the initial presentation document created upon opening E-Class is still open; in this case, the created document will replace this.
The presentation file format needs to store all the information about the document, namely slides, topics, related content, and relations between all of these. It might also store the currently-viewed slide of the presentation, but will not store any information related to a presentation session, including drawing objects.
'Save' saves the currently active presentation document, while 'Save As...' allows for saving on a different file from which it was opened or most recently saved upon.
'Export...' opens the Export Layers dialog.
The commands in the edit menu are applicable to several types of data:
Text content can be copied and pasted between the presentation and chat messages, but the other two types of content cannot be transformed into any of the others. The 'Paste' command will then only be available when the content on the clipboard is of the appropriate type for the currently focused UI element.
The data searched by the 'Find' command, or selected by the 'Select All' command,
depends on which window is focused: as appropriate: presentation content, the presentation outline,
participants, or chat messages. However, the 'Undo' and 'Redo' commands act on
a single history of actions performed in all windows.
