This document defines requirements for an electronic Test Tool. The tool manages a repository for course examinations and generates different forms of tests. A course examinator can generate a test automatically using a wide range of selectable test criteria. Students use the tool for taking tests, and the teacher uses the tool to automatically grade the tests when it is feasible. The automatic grading also performs analysis of test answers that involve program code.
In addition to providing useful functionality, the Test Tool will provide a fair grading environment for students. The Test Tool will decrease the amount of time course examinators will have to spend on grading, decreasing their work load at the same time as it gives students better and faster feedback on their tests.Further introductory material is presented in these subsections:
