This document defines the requirements for an electronic grading tool. The grading tool provides the user the functionality to keep track of grades. The user will also use the grading tool to export and manipulate grades with a variety of functions. The grading tool allows the users to run in different modes with varying permissions set by the administrator.
Motivated by the shortcomings of current grading software, the Grader project aims to build a user friendly, functional environment for inputting and viewing grades for both students and teachers. The user interface aims to be simple but feature rich. Some features of note include an interactive histogram displaying the curve of the class, a customizable progress report accessible by both students and teachers, and completely customizable classes and assignements. The release date for the Grader project is scheduled to be early December 2012.
