The personnel involved in the the grade manager project fall into two broad categories with several subcategories:
System end users are the people who will use or interact with output of the software. These include teachers/professors, teacher aides and students. Teachers/professors and teacher aids have access to the grading functionality of the software (with teacher aids having less control than the teachers/professors). Students have the least amount of access only being able to see their scores and an unidentifiable list of other students’ scores. They are also able to do operations based on their grades for informational purposes.
Developers include the customer and the software developers. The customer, Dr. Gene Fisher, represents the Computer Science Department at Cal Poly and supplies the requirements for the project. The software developers are the 6 students designing and developing the software for the client.
The primary system developer is also Gene Fisher. His development activities
are all those of the software development process, from requirements analysis
through product implementation and deployment. He will also conduct the
ongoing process activities of testing, configuration, documentation, and
project management.
