Section 2.2.2.8. The Runnable CodeSegment Tool


This scenario shows an instructor using the Runnable CodeSegment Tool. The Runnable CodeSegment Tool is design to incorporate actual JAVA programming experiences into CSTutor. A Runnable CodeSegment within a Node is a more than just a simple box. It is displayed in a consistant manner by the system so that students will know that the code that is within it is compilable and runnable within CSTutor. Figure 1 below shows a standard Runnable CodeSegment item in CSTutor.

A Runnable CodeSegment is comprised of the following elements to the user:



2.2.2.8.1. Inserting a Runnable CodeSegment into an InfoNode

The instructor wants to create a Runnable CodeSegment within an InfoNode. To do this they activate the Runnable CodeSegment Tool on the NodeTools toolbar (or select "Authoring -> Node Tools -> Code Segment" from the CSTutor menusystem).
