The primary operational setting for eClass is the Computer Science Department of Cal Poly. Second to this is the rest of the Cal Poly campus, and finally anything unaffiliated with campus.
eClass is designed with a specific operational setting in mind. This setting is a modern classroom or computer lab, equipped with a computer for each student and the instructor and a projector or large display. The instructor runs the presentation on their computer, showing it on the projector or display, and the students watch and contribute from their individual computers. The computers would be installed and configured ahead of time, and should be on the same network.
After the system is installed, computers on the network will be able to join presentations on the instructors computer, depending on who the instructor decides should be allowed. The system may be optionally configured to allow additional observers to join in remotely.
