2.3.5. Topic Enumeration

Topic Enumeration is the term used to describe the numbering or bulleting before a particular topic. EClass makes three different styles available, classic numbering, dewey decimal numbering, and bulleting. For details on how to implement these different styles refer back to section 2.2.1. EClass behavior is the same regardless of the enumeration used.

Classic Numbering

The Classic Numbering style refers to the use of alternating numbering and lettering. The style of the numbering and lettering also changes on each level; numbering changes from Roman numeral numbering to common numbering and lettering changes from uppercase to lowercase. Figure 2.3.5a is an example of Classic Numbering.

Dewey Decimal Numbering

The Dewey Decimal Numbering style refers to the use of a decimal breakdown of each level. The first level will have 1 decimal place, the second will have two, as each level adds another decimal place. The decimals are then incremented for each topic in a level. Figure 2.3.5b is an example of Dewey Decimal Numbering.

Bulleting

The Bulleting style refers to use of unordered grouping of topics, with each level alternating bullets and lines. Figure 2.3.5c is an example of Bulleting.
