1.3. Operational Setting

The electronic classroom is designed primarily for use in school or office computer labs, but is also practical for remote (on-line) classes, meetings, or conferences. It runs on any desktop computer.

In a computer lab, the program is already installed on each machine. Remote users will be invited to a meeting with an email from the creator including a link to run the program and a meeting identification number to join. Local area network users would join or start a meeting in a similar manner to most computer game LAN lobbies with a button to create a new meeting and a list of open meetings. The instructor is expected to have a projector or large screen available for the class to view the presentation on. A computer is not required because the electronic classroom can be used for presentation only, with the students taking hand-written notes.
