Easy Grade Pro is available for both Windows and Mac
systems. It has received many positive reviews for its ease of use, speed, and
numerous features. However, it is missing a few features and could use some
improvement in others.
Good Features:
- tabs
for viewing additional information
- able
to keep information on multiple classes in one file
- can
rename columns
- can
sort by name and ID for grade posting
- can
create charts for specific categories
- allows
for letter grades and credit/no credit
- search
feature that can search all or current classes only
- allows
for dropping lowest score and curving
- can
generate html files and customizable progress reports
- can
set rounding of grades to whole numbers, tenths, or hundredths
- different
levels of access
- can
modify grades graphically
Bad Features:
- e-mails
grades as PICT file attachments, which may not be easily opened by users
on Windows machines
- must
export and upload every time grades are updated
- students
need a separate login for each class when checking grades
- can’t
edit grades at home without software and saving files on a disk
- only
one level of undo and no redo
Missing Features:
- no
network functionality
- no
assignment revision history
- no pie
chart or dot plot
- no
collapsible columns
- no
“what if” feature for students
- can’t
generate random student ID’s
