The Blackboard suite is the current system installed at some major universities throughout the country including California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. It is a web based grading package that allows for the schools to use an all in one program to run and grade its classes. Its a heavily featured, excel type grading structure that allows for a variety of options for grading and class updates. Although it seems like a robust system to grade students it lacks certain features that would be very helpful for teachers.

Mainly, a nice graphical representation of the grades are lacking throughout this suite. Also, although used very heavily throughout Cal Poly's campus, it is not integrated with the schools SIS system in regards to roster updates and grade submission. Overall, the suite preforms well for a variety of grading tasks but lacks certain features some teachers would find incredibly useful.

Good Features:

• Variety of grading features including: extra credit and lowest grade dropping
• Web-based
• Excel-type grade input
• Student accounts to view grades
• Integrated to some of the school's SIS system
• Valuable statistics easily accessed

Bad Features:

• Very complex
• Hard to curve grading scores
• Many seemingly useless features

Missing Features:

• Visual representation of grades
• Roster updates from campus
• Comments on student submitted work
• Past grading trends for that class/teacher
