Quiz Maker is a suite program with six separate programs involved in
it. There is a quiz creator for professors, a quiz taker for students a
user editor, a student results program, student answer program, and a package
program. There are some unique features to this program such as the
student answers database and the view results, which will hold results until
deleted. Other important features found in other programs are not
included such as a question database, and point values and difficulty for
questions.
Good Features:
screen which adds extra security for the professor and his tests.
- Includes
many question types: multiple choice, missing word, essay, and T/F.
- Simple
enough for immediate use with very little training time for teachers.
- Provides
good functionality for adding/removing questions.
- Allows
for adding multimedia, such as pictures, video, etc.
- Provides
a print function for hard copies of tests.
- Allows
students to locally take a test, and have answers stored onto local
database.
Bad Features:
- Bad
functionality on test taking, no skip question option and its hard to skip
back to questions previously visited.
- The
tabs at the top of every screen are unnecessary and confusing.
- Doesn’t
save question banks, only saves tests.
- In
multiple choice questions, you must have four answers to the question, and
no more.
- Multiple
choice questions aren’t marked with a, b, c, d, creating confusion.
- The
question must be finished in order to start working on a new question; you
can’t leave any answers blank.
Missing Features
- No question database.
- No
test creation wizard, not allowing searching for question.
- The
questions don’t have point value or difficulty.
- No
time parameters for questions.
- No
multiple item view.
- No
column sorting.
- There
isn’t a local database, and therefore there is no database sharing.
- No
automated test grading.
- Professors
cannot grade question by question by student.
- Question
types such as matching and short answer aren’t included.
