1.5.3. Diploma 6

Diploma 6, by the Brownstone Research Group, has gone through several revisions and is now in its sixth generation. Becuase of this, Diploma 6 contains many advanced features and an intuitive feel that make it a very useful test generation, grade management, and online testing tool.

Good Features:

• contains functionality for test generation, grade management, and online testing in one easy to use package
• built-in question formats include multiple choice, true/false, short answer, matching, fill-in-the-blank, and essay
• feedback may be attached to provide useful insight into practice exams
• multiple graphic formats are supported
• provides good functionality for importing equations
• provides good functionality for exporting online tests as html documents
• users can create, manage, and use an unlimited number of test banks
• files can be exported to Blackboard
• overall it is a well organized and powerful tool

• contains little additional support for online test taking, other than simply exporting an html file
• provides a "feedback" feature that cannot be used during grading
• little support for manual grading options

• no support for a remote database of questions
• test generation is entirely manual, no support for automatic test generation
• questions properties, such as class, type, last time used, keywords, etc
