1.5.3. Diploma 6
Diploma 6, by the Brownstone Research Group, has gone through several
revisions and is now in its sixth generation. Becuase of this, Diploma 6
contains many advanced features and an intuitive feel that make it a very
useful test generation, grade management, and online testing tool.
Good Features:
- contains functionality for test generation, grade management, and online testing in one easy to use package
- built-in question formats include multiple choice, true/false, short answer, matching, fill-in-the-blank, and essay
- feedback may be attached to provide useful insight into practice exams
- multiple graphic formats are supported
- provides good functionality for importing equations
- provides good functionality for exporting online tests as html documents
- users can create, manage, and use an unlimited number of test banks
- files can be exported to Blackboard
- overall it is a well organized and powerful tool
Bad Features:
- contains little additional support for online test taking, other than simply exporting an html file
- provides a "feedback" feature that cannot be used during grading
- little support for manual grading options
Missing Features:
- no support for a remote database of questions
- test generation is entirely manual, no support for automatic test generation
- questions properties, such as class, type, last time used, keywords, etc
