The scenario in this section illustrates what happens when a schedule is generated and there are not enough instructors to cover all of the classes offered. This happens when instructors' preferences do not align with when courses are offered and which courses are offered in a quarter. When this happens, the Instructor for a given class becomes Staff, as shown in Figure 1.
