3.1 Performance
All grader manipulation, viewing, and options commands must execute instantaneously except for:
The times these take to perform all demond on current network conditions, and thus are subject to potential network delays. The Grade Manager and Browser must transmit data as fast as is possible on any given network, but delays due to external network circumstances are beyond the control of the Grade Manager and Browser.
There are no specific requirements for allowable sizes in terms of number of gradebooks, students, categories, or assignments. However, the maximum expected sizes are the following:
-
gradebooks -- up to tens of gradebooks
-
students -- up to thousands of students
-
categories -- up to tens of categories
-
assignments -- up to thousands of assignments (individual problems within assignments count as assignments)
The expected maximum number of users connected depends on how many students are currently enrolled in classes being managed by the Grade Manager and Browser.
The Grade Manager and Browser must be able to operate with databases of sizes larger than these normal maximums. However, the tool need not the meet the previously-enumerated time performance requirements for databases larger than normal maximum sizes.
