2.1.2. Teacher's Assistant User Interface
The Teacher's Assistant user helps the Instructor maintain the grade sheet. The main task for the TA is to edit and keep track of student grades by modifying the grade sheet. Figure 3 shows an expansion of the command menus for a Teacher's Assistant.

The grade sheet notifies the users how they are logged in at the top of the menu. In this example, Brent Smith is logged in as a TA.
Section 2.1.1 explains all commands shared by both Instructor and Teacher's Assistant users.
The command menu crosses out some of the commands, however. Teacher Assistants are not allowed to do the following:
- New
Only instructors can create new gradebooks.
- Login Settings, Student Roster, Curve/Weight
Only instructors can edit the login settings, make changes to the student roster, and change the curve/weight of graded items.
- New Item, Edit Item, New Student, Edit Student
Only instructors can add and edit graded items and students. TA's are allowed to make changes to the grade scheme, but the system will only save a local copy of the changes until the instructor approves.
