2.10.1 File Operations

2.10.1.1 New

The 'New' option under the 'File' menu creates a new blank gradebook. The new sub-window containing the blank gradebook appears in the middle of the Grader's main window, as shown in Figure 2.10.2.

Any currently opened gradebooks remain open within the Grader.

2.10.1.2 Open

When the users clicks the 'Open' option under the 'File' menu, the Grader displays a open-file dialog box allowing the user to select a saved gradebook file from within the filesystem. If the file is a valid gradebook, the Grader tool will create new sub-window containing the gradebook.

2.10.1.3 Save

When the user clicks the 'Save' option under the 'File' menu, the Grader saves the gradebook into its gradebook file. If the gradebook is new, and does not have a filename established for it, the Grader displays a save-file dialog box, allowing the user to specify the gradebook's filename before the Grader saves the gradebook into it. If there are multiple gradebooks open at the same time, the 'Save' operation applies to the gradebook who's window has been clicked into focus last.

2.10.1.4 Save As

The 'Save As' option under the 'File' menu works the same as the 'Save' option (Section 2.10.1.3), except the gradebook prompts the user to choose a filename regardless if the gradebook has a filename established or not.

2.10.1.5 Publish

The user publishes gradebooks to a server using the 'Publish' option under the 'File' menu, as detailed in
Section 2.8.3

2.10.1.6 Import

The user imports gradebooks from SIS using the 'Import' option under the 'File' menu, as detailed in Section 2.2

2.10.1.7 Export

The user exports gradebooks to SIS using the 'Export' option under the 'File' menu, as detailed in Section 2.8.3

2.10.1.8 Exit

When the user clicks the 'Exit' option under the 'File' menu, the Grader closes. If there are any unsaved gradebooks opened, the Grader displays a dialog box promting the user to 'Save', 'Discard', or 'Cancel'.

2.10.2 Edit Operations

2.10.2.1 Undo

When the user clicks the 'Undo' option under the 'Edit' menu, the Grader reverts the last operation performed by the user to its previous state.

2.10.2.2 Redo

When the user clicks the 'Redo' option under the 'Edit' menu, the Grader redoes the last operation that had just been undone.

2.10.2.3 Revert

When the user clicks the 'Revert' option under the 'Edit' menu, the Grader creates a dialog prompting the user to select a date to revert the gradebook to. The user selects a date and the Grader creates a prompt asking them to comfirm their choice. The data within the gradebook changes to how it had been on the date specified.
