Lantiv Timetabler is a scheduling tool that allows users to automatically
or interactively schedule courses. It supports block-scheduling and allows the
user to schedule rooms and equipment.
Good Features:
- Users can easily change the viewing area by selecting
tables, timetables or constraints from a drop-down menu under the "Start"
tab
- Users can back up and restore files
- The list of icons on the left side of the database
window allows the user to add general information, days, lessons, subjects,
groups and students with a click of the mouse
- The right side of the database window displays icons
for adding teachers, rooms, equipment, activities and conflicts
- There are help buttons and options on every window of
the application
- There is a checklist of items to look for and know
before printing the final timetable
- Data can be saved and opened from an xml format
Bad Features:
- There is so much information that
it is confusing at first
- The user interface looks like
Windows XP
- Initial 'out of box' setup
includes scheduling students into classes
Missing Features:
- No import feature, data would
have to be manipulated into an xml file i.e. database of open rooms from the
administration
- There is no feature for student
feedback on the schedule
