2.3. Generating a Simple Test

Test Tool has the ability to automatically create a test matching criteria defined by a professor. For instance, if Dr. Fisher wishes to create a 50 minute, 50 question test for Section 2 of his CPE205 class, he simply loads Test Tool, selects 'Generate...' from the Test menu, fills in a few simple requirements, and clicks Generate. Now, a full test meeting the requirements given is shown in the current test window. Automatic Test Generation can be done in both simple and advanced modes; simple allows control over the length and number of questions on a test, while advanced allows the professor more control over the details of how questions are selected for the test. Simple test generation is covered in this scenario, while advanced generation is covered in Section 2.4.
