Test Tool is a comprehensive software system developed by students in California Polytechnic State University's software engineering courses to create and manage educational examinations. The software generates, according to user-selectable criteria, tests comprised of questions stored in a global "question bank" populated by users of the system, allows secure online test delivery and collection, and performs automatic grading where feasible. The software is packaged as two independent applications: an instructor interface for test generation and management and a student interface for test taking. The specification that follows defines the user-level functional requirements for this system.
