Several available test generation and test administration tools meet some or many of the required features of the RAINBOW application. These include:

• ExamView® Assessment Suite V8
• EasyTestMaker
• Exam Software™
• Adit Testdesk
• Moodle/PolyLearn
• IHS (No website available)

Each of these systems integrates one or more of the RAINBOW’s features and provides comparisons in implementation to the RAINBOWs. However, RAINBOW’s features offer some improvements over current systems, including the following:

• customized topic-based test generation
• code-based questions and script grading
• simple and powerful UI
• database for storing questions
• automatically generate tests with a variety of optional customization criteria
• embedded images
• question navigation simple and informative
• better documentation (Tool Tips)
