2.10.1 Creating a Master Workspace

If no master workspace exists in the path from set server and 'Administration > Master Workspace' is chosen from the menu bar, the program creates a master workspace, which includes master course, instructor, classroom, and administrator databases.  If no path exists (set server has never been completed), choosing 'Administration > Master Workspace' takes the user to the set server window, then once a path is defined, the program creates a master workspace.

The course database should be filled with all possible classes so further schedules can select the ones they need; for more information see adding a course

The instructor database will be filled with names from campus ids, and instructors will be able to login via the web application with their campus ids to update their information; for more information see adding an instructor or instructor preferences

The classrooms database should be filled out with all the possible rooms for any schedule, then future schedules can select which and when rooms are available this quarter; for more information see adding a classroom.

The administrator database should be filled with all users who are allowed to edit the workspace, for help see adding administrators.

The master workspace does not allow users to generate a schedule.  This is done by disabling the schedule category in the menu bar and in the category toolbar.  Having a schedule would be a waste of space and time for saving and importing the master workspace, because it would fit poorly to any quarter.
